Overview /Objective:
The Football Operations Associate will support NFL Football Operations Business Strategy Policy, Governance, Education and Partnerships to ensure that NFL Football is the greatest competitive sport in the world. This role will focus on enhancing and supporting the department’s policy, education initiatives and partnerships. This position will report into the Director of Policy, Governance, Education and Partnerships, and will work closely with the Sr. Vice President of Football Operations Business Strategy Policy, Governance, Education and Partnerships and the Sr. Vice President of Football Operations Business Strategy, Vice President of Business Strategy, and other members of the broader Football Operations pillar units (Player Operations; Game Operations and Club Services; and Officiating and Compliance).
Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with Directors, Managers and Vice Presidents across Football Operations to enhance policies, education, and third-party relationships impacting the game.
Assist in establishing policy improvements and identifying educational support needs regarding league-wide priorities.
Manage, evaluate, and create departmental education programs and opportunities to, support events, media outreach, website, social media and data bases as well as monitor and update educational opportunities where appropriate.
In collaboration with other Football Operations units, review departmental club and league-wide communications to ensure consistency with league policies and initiatives.
Assist, monitor and advise the on the department’s education of players, coaches, and clubs on league initiatives where and when appropriate.
Support collaboration across FOPs departments with public policy and governmental affairs on issues impacting Football Operations.
In collaboration with Football Operations leadership, manage and support established stakeholders, partnerships and initiatives impacting the game, including the HBCU partnership.
Manage and support partnership contracts and billing through the NFL’s contract system.
Create and implement systems to track and follow-up on open requests for information from various outside parties.
Collaborate with other departments, including but limited to Youth Football, NFL Foundation, Player Care Foundation and Social Responsibility to amplify player support.
Other duties, responsibilities and projects as directed by and at the discretion of the SVP of Football Operations Policy, Education and Partnerships.
Additional Duties May Include:
Attend and participate in such events as Collegiate All-Star Games, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl, Combine, Rookie Debut, Rookie Premiere, Rookie Symposium, Legends Events, and assigned League, Football Operations programs and events or Committee Meetings.
Maintain a trusted relationship with Legends players in conjunction with Legends Community, The Player Care Foundation, The Trust, NFL Alumni and other NFL affinity groups.
Responsible for providing superior service and support to clubs, players and partners.
Provide seamless support for and communications with other departments.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
At least 3 years of solid experience in the professional or collegiate sports/entertainment industry, or NFL player experience.
Experience in collegiate or athlete support in player services

Salary / Pay Range

Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Terms /Expected Hours of Work:
This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.
This role will require the ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays, and travel.
