What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Asbestos & IAQ Manager that will be responsible for the coordination and specific oversight of asbestos containing material (ACM), mold remediation, and lead paint remediation programs at all Baylor University owned and/or leased facilities. This position will include documentation and record keeping of all asbestos containing material (ACM), mold, and lead testing and remediation activities. 

A Bachelor's degree, two years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master’s degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred. 

A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. 

*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 

What You Will Do

  • Manage project budgeting and estimating, scheduling, project administration and setup, field activities, data interpretation, client interaction, project momentum, record keeping, and project close out.
  • Conduct and/or provide oversight of asbestos-related work activities: inspection and bulk sample collection, abatement, air monitoring, air clearance sampling, and record keeping.
  • Conduct and/or provide oversight of mold-related work activities: initial inspection and investigations, environmental sampling, remediation oversight, pre/post-remediation air clearance sampling, and record keeping.
  • Maintain the institutions Asbestos Management Plan and Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Program to include maintaining all records for work involving ACM in accordance with the Texas Asbestos Health Protection Rules (TAHPR). 
  • When appropriate, initiate preventive measures to ensure that ACM will not be disturbed, and prepare and/or submit notifications of asbestos abatement activities to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
  • Coordinate asbestos abatement projects in compliance with the TAHPR.   
  • Conduct and/or provide oversight of lead-based paint-related work activities: inspections/risk assessments and sampling, abatement oversight, dust wipe/air clearance sampling, and record keeping.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission. 
  • Ability to comply with university policies. 
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
