We are currently looking for a Senior Public Health Manager – Health Improvement to join our Public Health team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a high-profile role providing support to the Assistant Director/Consultant in Public Health / Head of Public Health with responsibility delivering key elements of the Service Plan.
This role will work closely with the public health team, senior officers within the council, NHS commissioners, service providers, external stakeholders and organisations, community groups, service users and healthcare professionals in securing the delivery of high-quality services.
This is a high-profile role supporting the Head of Public Health – Health Improvement & Health Protection, capitalising on opportunities that the Council’s ambitious transformation plans have in the health improvement agenda and who has responsibility delivering key elements of the Service Plan.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver on a range of programmes relating to Healthy Lifestyles including leading strategic development and partnership working, and commissioning activities. This will incorporate areas relating to NHS Health checks, smoking cessation/Tobacco control and weight management. You will lead, influence and advise on the portfolio of work and meeting key outcomes in Thurrock’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy, and oversee and ensure effective delivery of public health services for Thurrock.
The Senior Programme Manager will liaise with external bodies such as our MSE Integrated Care System (ICS), UKHSA, OHID, NHSE, and Voluntary sector.
We are looking for an experienced Public Health Professional Educated to a postgraduate level in public health (e.g. public health practitioner, ILM), or equivalent experience.
