The Facility Quality Assurance Technician supports HWI’s mission and vision to drive industry performance and deliver quality results. This role focus is on the actual testing of product and raw materials, judging samples against standards and accurately enters data into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). A successful candidate will maintain high level of accuracy and engagement to guide HWI towards achieving and exceeding their objectives.
Verify in process production
Performs physical testing of finished goods.
Performs final inspections.
Enters LIMS data into appropriate systems and judges acceptability of product.
Screens analysis of raw materials and mixes.
Sample preparation.
Performs additional testing as required.
Requirements
Physical Activity: Requires less than 1/3 of time sitting, climbing/balancing, and stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, and speaking/hearing. Requires more than 2/3 of time standing.
Lifting: Requires lifting up to 25 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of time, and lifting up to 50 pounds more than 2/3 of time.
Vision: Requires accurate close vision, color vision, and the ability to focus.
Environment: Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time in an office setting and working near moving mechanical parts. Also requires less than 1/3 of time in wet/humid conditions, working in high, precarious places, exposed to fumes or airborne particles, vibration, outdoor weather, and in extreme heat or cold.
Noise: Requires exposure to moderate noise.
Qualifications
Requires high school diploma and one (1) year of college education or technical training with emphasis on math and science.
Requires computer operation aptitude (MS Office and LIMS system or similar products).
Requires abilities to follow directions, provide innovative solutions, and both work independently or as a team member.
Requires knowledge of refractory industry and quality assurance.
