Job Summary  

Perform clerical functions on ER and to function as nursing assistant as outlined in position duties.            

Minimum Requirements  

Education: High school diploma or equivalent 

Licensure: CPR through AHA

1. Job Specific Duties/Knowledge Requirements  

• Assists nurse with patient care as directed. (temperatures, weights, PO feedings, etc.) Documents according to unit policy. Reports significant information to nurse.  
• Is aware of unit/hospital policy/procedures and plans care accordingly. Enforces hospital policies as needed.  
• Prepares unit for peak times by preparing admit/discharge charts in a timely manner.  

2. Conduct and Communication Skills  

• Observes and enforces departmenthospital policy concerning no smoking, telephone usage, dress code and other rules governing conduct while at work.  
• Appropriately identifies self to others (i.e. patients, patient's family, staff, physicians, etc.)  
• Accepts responsibility for action and omissions. Is responsive to identified need for change.  

3. Professional Growth and Development/Safety  

• Attends required inservices: (i.e. CPR, Mandatory Safety Infection Control.)  
• Attends and participates in a minimum of 3/4ths of departmental meetings.  
• Meets hospital wide and department specific educational requirements.
