Position Summary:
The Operating Room Manager implements the strategic direction for and provides operational and clinical oversight to multiple patient care areas or patient populations within the perioperative suite. Leads, manages, and evaluates all aspects of patient care, staff/leadership resources, productivity, and interdisciplinary collaboration for multiple areas of responsibility. This position ensures patient care outcomes and quality improvement activities are coordinated within the care delivery framework. In addition, identifies areas and ensures that practice is consistent with internal and external policies, regulatory agencies, best practice quality standards and Park Nicollet contracts.
Work Schedule:
- 1.0 FTE
- Primarily Monday – Friday daytime hours.
- Weekend Leader On-Call rotation with other leaders.
- Evening, nights, and weekends per department need.
- Intermediate to high level computer/keyboarding with personal computer applications. Skills required, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite including excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and email, calendar, and word documents.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Health-Related Field.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability in leadership roles beyond clinical or OR settings, such as team leadership, project management, or organizational change initiatives.
- Diverse Clinical Background: While RN qualifications are valued, we are open to candidates with broader healthcare experience, which may include backgrounds in surgical technology, healthcare administration, business operations or related fields.
- Experience in Navigating Culture Change: Proven track record in driving and implementing cultural transformations within healthcare organizations.
- Operational Experience: Extensive experience across multiple service lines, including but not limited to surgical services, outpatient care, and ancillary departments.
- Quality and Process Improvement/Management: Strong background in quality improvement methodologies and implementing process enhancements to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
- Change Management: Proficiency in leading and managing change initiatives, adapting workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated success in planning, executing, and overseeing complex projects within healthcare settings.
- Business Acumen: Desire and capability to integrate business principles into healthcare operations, understanding financial implications and strategic decision-making.
- Understanding of Surgical/Operating Room (OR) Environment: While not strictly required, a solid understanding or experience within the operating room or surgical services is beneficial for this role.
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- CNOR and CSSM certification from AORN preferred
