HealthPartners North Suburban Family Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant Supervisor to join our team at our Roseville, MN location.

This role oversees the daily operations of clinic patient care, including the lab. This role includes all aspects of staffing, ensuring compliance to policies and procedures and work standards and working with clinic leadership on system and process improvements and building a culture of trust and integrity. This role has approximately 2 days of administration and 3 days providing patient care including lab, rooming, direct patient care including phlebotomy, EKG, injections, screening, and registry work. This workflow is based on clinic needs and is flexible.
Responsibilities include:
Staff:
- Oversee the clinical patient care services including lab, ensuring high preforming care teams and clinical support.
- Manage/ develop staff schedules, including weekly schedules, PTO, sick calls.
- Manage daily clinic flow as it relates to the lab and care teams.
- Serve as a role model in the enhancement of professional conduct, shares skills and knowledge.
- Champion registries and quality initiatives.
- Interviewing and direct/in depth participation in hiring process, orientation.
- Manage new hire systems access.
- Provide new hires with applicable training including lab, CMP, clinic workflow, registries.
- Model, promote and educate new staff on Healthy Workplace Values and Behavior
Education/Training:
- Provide and participate in annual training and education.
- Ensure certification and CEU requirements are met for self and staff.
- Conduct proficiency training for staff three times per year.
- Follow protocols and policies to ensure the organization is meeting expectations per accredited bodies (CLIA/CAP/COLA) in partnership with Lab Consultant.
- Coordinate MnVFC/IPI: Follow protocols to ensure the organization is meeting expectations per accrediting bodies.
Communication:
- Monitors employee performance and address performance issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide input to process improvements within the clinic. Solicits input from staff for ideas/suggestions.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and encourages staff participation.
- Conducts 1:1 with staff.
- Maintain communication across teams.
- Work closely leadership team to ensure coordination of staffing and patient care.
- Actively supports and communicates the mission and vision of HealthPartners North Suburban Family Physicians.
- Incorporates a patient-centered approach in all activities.
- Support HealthPartners North Suburban Family Physicians initiatives and pilots.
Other duties:
- Approve and audit timecards.
- Manage/delegate the ordering of supplies and vaccines to ensure appropriate items and quantities obtained.
- Stewardship of resources.
Required qualifications include:
- High School diploma or GED
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT
- If not currently certified or registered through AAMA or AMT:
- Must meet criteria for certification or registration through AAMA or AMT
- Must register to take the AAMA or AMT certification or registration exam within 45 days of hire.
- Must pass first scheduled AAMA or AMT certification or registration exam within 6 months of hire.
- Current BLS/CPR certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required by start date and maintained throughout employment.
- On-line CPR certification is not acceptable.
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of the clinical practices and procedures in an ambulatory care setting

- Phlebotomy skills a plus
Preferred qualifications include:
- At least one year experience in a direct patient care setting
- At least one year experience with EPIC
- At least 1 year in a lead/ supervisory position in health care.
