The Highlights:
The SEVIS Compliance Analyst is responsible for applying federal regulatory parameters to determine whether non-immigrant student and exchange faculty members are compliant with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations, as part of the mandatory SEVIS reporting responsibilities of the University. The ISS must meet continuous non-negotiable Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) reporting deadlines, or face revocation by the U.S. government of the University's legal authority to enroll and invite F-1 and J-1 non-immigrants which would result in an overnight loss of approximately over $30 million annually in tuition revenues. Position responsible for monitoring alerts and notifying advisors to communicate with international students and scholars regarding visa status. Position responsible for data reconciliation and analysis to ensure institutional compliance and coordinating institutional reporting through SEVIS. Position is also tasked with the critical responsibility of testing and evaluating efficacy of PS upgrades, and their impact on communication among People Soft, Terra Dotta and SEVIS.
What You'll Do:
Troubleshoot and identify issues with systems and data flow among them (ie: PS, Slate, Terra Dotta, Salesforce). Create queries in PS/DW to validate data. Create help desk tickets and follow through with resolutions.
Perform data audits using various systems (i.e. SEVIS, People Soft (PS) Datawarehouse (DW), and Terra Dotta (TD)) and analyze results to ensure institutional compliance; test PS and SEVIS upgrades to ensure compatibility with TD.
Complete special projects as needed including but not limited to: immigration advising for students, assisting with ISS integration in university systems, monitoring ISS usage of the CRM and Salesforce.
Manage security roles in People Soft, Terra Dotta & Datawarehouse. Act as point person and liaise with other departments and their functional users when data concerns arise; create queries to respond to data requests.
Partner with SEVIS coordinator to complete institutional SEVIS quarterly reporting, review SIS updates in TD and post these changes to SEVIS or modify/correct SIS data to then post to SEVIS.
Archive and dispose of electronic and remaining paper files in accordance with DePaul Retention Schedule 2.36 Foreign Student Visas and Supporting Documentation for F-1 and J-1.
Act as Designated School Official (DSO) on record with the Department of Homeland Security as responsible for carrying out federally mandated responsibilities on behalf of the University.
Directly supports the university's ability to retain permission to admit and enroll international students resulting in an annual revenue of over $30 million tuition dollars.
What You'll Need:
Bachelors degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.
One to two years of administrative experience, preferably in a university setting preferred.
Technical knowledge and aptitude in database management, programs, tools and technology preferred as well as experience running data processing systems.
Close attention to detail, good cross-cultural communication skills, and strong computing skills required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and experience determining priorities effectively while adhering to deadlines is necessary.
Strong internal initiative with ability to independently complete, review and report on work tasks.
Strong communication skills including writing, speaking/presenting; collaborative/team player; proven inter cultural skills.
Technical knowledge and aptitude in database management, programs, tools, and technology, as well as experience running data processing systems is necessary.
Ability to analyze data and apply findings to identify process improvements and to propose solutions.
Ability to create queries or data reports Ad hoc for other staff members and/or to create a query with user friendly prompts that staff members can run on their own as needed.
Have working knowledge of relational databases and standard SQL query methods.
Some weekend and evening hours depending on system testing or SEVIS reporting deadlines.
