The Data Recovery Technician will repair, rebuild, and recover logically inaccessible customer data from storage media. Professional data recovery is the process of obtaining usable data from inaccessible storage media and corrupted or deleted file sets.
Servers, raid systems, personal computers, mobile phones, tablets, cameras all store data on some type of electronic media such as hard disk drives, optical media, or flash devices. The data recovery process is very complex and labour intensive. Successful data recovery requires an in-depth understanding of all the technical details of modern data storage media, operating systems, and file systems as well as a well-equipped, controlled laboratory that is staffed with experienced, trained engineers.
Entry level role with diverse involvement in various areas as needed to support the Team.
A full in-house data recovery training program and ongoing learning is an integral part of the role.

Role Overview
Data Recovery Logical:
This requires a full understanding and following of the data recovery process and procedures. This also requires the proper use and understanding of our software tools and systems as needed to diagnose and analyze the Operating System’s logical data structures. Repair, rebuild and recover logically inaccessible customer data from storage media. Productivity and efficiency are emphasized in all data recovery efforts to provide excellent customer service.
Tape Lab:
The technician will be responsible for processing clients’ backup tape jobs. This may involve cataloguing customer tapes, extracting data from tapes, extracting data from the Exchange data and data recovery from tapes.
