Our Social Workers

 •   Provide an excellent social work service that enables our children and young people to fulfil their potential and achieve positive outcomes.
•   Ensure that the voice of the child is always heard and that the views of our young people are at the heart of all our case planning.
•   Create genuine partnerships with parents and carers.
•   Work in partnership with other agencies to provide effective and well-coordinated plans for our children.
•   Benefit from the availability of a strong early help offer to support and work alongside social workers.

The Teams

The Accelerated Support Team is a multi-disciplinary team that supports families and vulnerable young people on the edge of care and those at risk of contextual harm and serious youth violence, by utilising a trauma informed approach.

Brent Family Front Door/ MASH - social workers in this service are the first point of contact for professionals or members of the public who wish to share information about families with us. They record and gather information, consult with partner agencies and then make recommendations for  the next steps to be taken.

Short Term Teams - workers in these teams carry out high quality Child and Family assessments within agreed timescales to inform our plans for children and their families.

Long Term Teams - workers in these teams hold caseloads of Children In Need and Child Protection cases. They work closely with families to support and protect children and to ensure that they can fulfil their potential.

Disabled Children and Young People Service 0-25 - workers in these teams provide high quality assessments and a wide range of support packages to ensure the best outcomes for disabled young people and their families.

Looked After Children Teams work with children aged 0-18 throughout their care journey. As a social worker in one of these teams you would hold a mixed case load which could include care proceedings, long term foster care, Special Guardianship, adoption, and occasionally some Child in Need or Child Protection work.

Kinship Care team - as a kinship social worker, you would be assessing prospective Connected Person/Friend and Family foster carers and Special Guardians for children who are in care or could come into care. You would also supervise and monitor Connected Person foster carers who have children placed with them in an emergency. You will work closely with children’s social workers, contributing to care and permanency planning along the child’s journey.
