Following a restructure, the Procurement team at Brent have some exciting opportunities. One of which is for a Cross Category Manager-Projects. This is a key role for someone who has the gravitas, procurement knowledge and understanding across Social Care , Construction and Environmental areas and can be dropped into one or all these categories, leading and delivering an excellent service and outcomes to stakeholders.
You will be working closely with the other Category Managers in the team and as a key member of the team supporting to help smooth out the peaks and troughs of the procurement cycle, delivering and leading on bespoke / key projects as directed by the Head of Procurement.
Cross Category Manager – Projects
Key strategic role working in partnership with the various Directorates across the council, acting as a key strategic adviser on complex procurement matters, managing procurement projects of high value, providing expert technical information, advice and guidance on all aspects of the procurement process with a variety of complexity and/or risk to the council.
Experienced procurement professional with a cross section of experience across Social Care, Construction and Corporate Services categories within a local government environment.
Excellent communicator, quick learner with the acumen to pick up a variety of new processes introduced to cover the whole procurement cycle and support the local agenda, with the gravitas and ability to handle and deliver various high profile procurements and bespoke projects consistently and to time.
Definitely wanting to make a difference and keen to lead and develop existing Procurement strategies as well as further honing your skills gaining exposure across a variety of complex categories and being recognised as a valuable member of the team, then this role may be for you!
