The Post
We are recruiting to a Senior Finance Analyst (SFA) position to support the Children and Young People (CYP) department focusing on Schools and the Dedicated Schools grant (DSG).
As an SFA, working as a Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing specialist and senior financial, and accounting support for Schools and the four blocks of the DSG namely Schools Block, High Needs, Early Years, and the Central Schools Services Block. The SFA would support all officers within the service area and schools, providing them with high level professional advice on a broad range of financial issues and their relation to the Council's corporate and managerial objectives. You will be expected to be familiar with the services provided by the department and the complexities around them, including funding arrangements.
The Senior Finance Analyst will report into the relevant Head of Finance. They will provide officers and senior stakeholders with high level professional advice and make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service. Key activities will include:
