The role
We are looking for a creative and insightful Early Childhood Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team. The main objective for this post is to deliver high quality stay and play services and crèche provision that supports children’s early learning and development, using the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, contributing to improved outcomes for children and their families in the London Borough of Camden. This includes supporting the early and sustained engagement of children and families in the 0-2s focused pathway, especially for those most at risk of poor outcomes.
Working in Camden Children Centre and Family Hubs you will make a positive difference to parents, carers, and their children by providing a mix of physical and virtual spaces, as well as outreach, where families can easily access non-judgmental support for the challenges they may be facing.

We would like to meet you and support your development. The Early Childhood Team work Monday to Saturday and we are looking for workers who would like to work minimum 14.4 hours (2 days) a week and up to 36 hours depending on service needs, hours agreed termly.
The post holder will hold a level 3 NVQ childcare or equivalent. We will consider people that are currently training to do their level 3.

To be considered for this post, we are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic childcare professional. You must possess a Level 3 or above NVQ in Childcare and Education or an equivalent qualification and have gained experience working in group childcare and/or delivering stay and play services.
It is essential the successful candidate has experience of working with parents and children in community settings. You will also need to be able to offer sessions online via video conference. The ideal candidate may be beginning their work with families or have a wealth of experience working with families from diverse backgrounds reflecting the population of Camden, coupled with the ability to promote equality and celebrate diversity. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults such as people with physical or mental health issues, learning disabilities or at risk of homelessness. You will have experience of planning and delivering drop-in sessions within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework to meet the needs of children’s learning and development needs.
Additionally will be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with knowledge of using databases, Microsoft Office packages and possess effective personal organisation skills. You will be used to ‘thinking on your feet’ and have excellent problem-solving and team-working skills. You will be supported by the Early Childhood Team Manager and will be offered service training opportunities.
