Anonymised Application – in keeping with Camden’s commitment to inclusion the recruitment to this role is anonymised and supports the objective of reducing the impact of unconscious bias.
About us
Camden has a proud, rebellious spirit that throughout its history has seen communities come together to tackle problems, and to bring about real social change. We want to make Camden a better borough – a place where everyone has a chance to succeed and where nobody gets left behind. Together we will create a place that works for everyone and where everyone has a voice.
The role
The purpose of the Business Support service is to support and enable services to deliver for the people of Camden in an efficient and effective way. To help us deliver this, we require skilled Business Support Officers to join the service to provide professional and customer focused support to our customers.
We’re currently looking for staff with safeguarding minute taking experience to support both children's and adult safeguarding panels. You will also need to be adaptable and have a willingness to respond to the changing needs and priorities of the services that we support.
You’ll ensure the professional delivery of established processes to support the organisation. Working closely with colleagues, you’ll work together to identify areas for improvement, ensuring that support remains appropriate for all service users. As a forward thinking Council, we expect staff to embrace new technology to support service users, ensuring that the level of support offered is flexible and in line with Camden’s ways of working.
About you
You’ll have exceptional communication skills: written, minute taking and verbal, with an ability to express issues in a clear and appropriate manner and work with a range of audiences. You will be resilient and have experience of working in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
It is essential that you are educated to GCSE level or equivalent (to include Maths and English), and / or have an NVQ3 in Business Administration or similar. You should be able to demonstrate that you have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), as well as database management.
You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, using problem solving skills and initiative to provide a customer focussed support service. You’ll also be able to work flexibly, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales and deadlines of others. This role requires you to deal diplomatically and confidentially with a wider range of stakeholders internally and externally. You’ll also have the ability to identify improvements to processes and systems and to share the recommendations with the wider team.
Please refer to the job capsule supplementary information for full details of the role.
