Starting Salary:  £31,069 per annum (actual for Term Time Only) 
Job Level: Level 2 Zone 2
Work Location: Hampden Nursery, Hampden Children’s Centre and Nursery, 80 Polygon Road, London, NW1 1HQ & Agar Children’s Centre, Wrotham Road, London NW1 9SU
Hours per week:  36
Contract Type:  Permanent - Term Time Only (over 39 weeks) 
Closing Date: Monday 29th April 2024 at 23:59
Interviews to be held: week commencing 13th April 2024
Alternative flexible working options available / open to discussion  

Please note as this is a term time only role you will work a 39 week year as opposed to a 52 week year. This means you’ll receive time off during the school holidays (October, February, May, half term, Christmas, Easter and 6 weeks in the summer).

You will be skilled in carrying out observations, assessments, recording children’s achievements and maintaining developmental records to a high standard.

The role

We have exciting opportunities for Early Years Educators to join our well established teams providing high quality care and education in our outstanding and good settings across the borough. We are looking for enthusiastic, creative individuals who can enhance our teams to raise levels of attainment.

As an Educator you will work with a group of children, work as part of a team to plan and implement a broad and varied curriculum that meets the needs of all children attending our inclusive settings.

You will work with due regard to Safeguarding within our Child Protection Policy and Procedures reporting maters of concern to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

We are recruiting for 2 posts in total at the following Children’s Centres;

  • Agar Children’s Centre, Wrotham Road, London NW1 9SU (for children aged 2 to 4 years olds)
  • Hampden Nursery Hampden Children’s Centre and Nursery, 80 Polygon Road, London, NW1 1HQ (for children aged 2 years to 3 year olds)

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

To be considered for one of these exciting opportunities it is essential the successful candidates have evidence of continued education such as a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care, NVQ or BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Children’s Play, Learning and Development Foundation Degree in Early Years.

Previous demonstrable experience of working with children from birth to 5 years is essential. You need to have a good level of written and spoken English in order to maintain developmental records, share children’s progress and complete assessments of children’s development. 

You will be an innovative childcare professional who is committed to providing the highest quality of care and education. You will be skilled in carrying out observations, assessments, recording children’s achievements and maintaining developmental records to a high standard.

The successful candidate will use and implement his/her expertise in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), have a good understanding of child development and learning to support and promote high quality education and care.
