Debt Recovery Officer
£35,577 - £36,567

One x Full time (36 hours a week) Permanent Debt Recovery Officer role - Hybrid working with one to two days in the office, dependent on service delivery - Equipment will be provided.

We are looking to appoint a Debt Recovery Officer to work with our current back office teams and be required to process penalty charge notice/debt recovery enquiries, fraud enquiries, as well as related appeals, N244 and out of time applications, complaints and service requests communicating effectively with all relevant parties. To prepare to a high standard all necessary paperwork in accordance with the terms of relevant legislation and to represent the Council in Magistrates' and County Courts as an advocate in pursuit of parking related fraud, money claim and debt recovery prosecutions. 

About you

As a Debt Recovery Officer the post holder will be required to have extensive knowledge of the Parking Service and related legislations, debt recovery and fraud procedures in order to provide an advisory support and case handling function which seeks to protect the council’s revenue in a fair and reasonable manner. 

The successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate a highly flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changes in work environment. In addition, sound administration skills, IT skills and attention to detail are paramount, together with a genuine commitment to, and experience of, first class customer service. You will be required to manage your own caseload as well as supporting other team members at times.
