Job Descrption
The role
We are in the process of upgrading our terminal operating systems in our Terminals with a new state of art terminal operating system (TOS) that will allow us to get one step closer to providing a end to end solution for all of our customers. To help us with that transition we are looking for a project manager to lead the project in upgrading, implementing and optimising our new system across the region from an operations perspective.
This new system is being developed by our dedicated TOS IT team and will allow all of the ports and terminals to be fully integrated into the new DP World structure. As project manager from Operations side you will be leading the project to help move all of the locations to the new system. This will involve working with the local teams, senior stakeholders and the global and regional technical IT team collaborating on the workflows to meet the deadlines provided.
There is support from our global operations team and you will pull together the... regional and local operational project charters to help create a unified project charter for the region. You will then use this charter to further develop the timelines and resourcing to make sure that you hit all of the targets required.
The aim is to roll this out initially to three main locations and then move on to the other terminals once a way of working and toolkit have been developed. Once the implementation across Europe is complete then you will be working on system optimisation and upgrades which will make sure we take advantage of all of the enhancements as they come online.
This is a permanent role that will allow you to really stamp your legacy on a multi-site international operation. The role will be remote with 50% travel across Europe with occasional global travel.
So, who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:
• Experience of implementing, managing and maintaining a TOS system from an operations perspective in a mid to large sized port or terminal
• A background in an operational port role and a deep understanding of container terminal operations
• A project management background with knowledge of project management methodology
• The ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders
• Strong deadline management and previous demonstrable experience of managing conflicting deadlines
• Previous experience with multiple TOS (Cargoes/Zodiac/Navis) is a necessity
