About Lambeth Council Technology 

We need an ambitious technical and ambitious person to join us a Senior Applications Support Analyst in our Technology Service at Lambeth Council.

 About the Role: 

We need an experienced Senior Applications Analyst to join our team in Brixton.  

The Senior Applications Analyst is responsible for the completion of tasks, that are complex due to the level of knowledge required and business criticality, including development, maintenance and system configuration activities for allocated line-of-business applications supporting one or more key business areas of the Council whilst maintaining security of operation and management of risk. This includes any associated application upgrades and interfaces to applications within other business areas and assisting with management reporting requirements to ensure secure, efficient operation of business activities.

 Day to day 

Accountable for personal development and management of a small team of Applications Analysts developing and supporting Digital, Corporate and Line of Business Applications to ensure that the systems remain optimised to meet business requirements and ensure security and continuity of services in the Lambeth environment. 

Complete tasks, that are complex due to the level of knowledge required and business criticality, to build digital applications and meet required Service and Operational Performance Levels, necessary to optimise application usage to enable effective business operations. 

Responsible for directing staff working to affect the resolution of critical Application Incidents, Major Incidents and Problems to restore services to normal operation as quickly as possible. 

Complete complex tasks to implement approved requests for change as needed to maintain a current applications environment aligned to business requirements. 

Responsible for creating work plans and managing risk and security in support of projects and BAU maintenance activities to maintain effective business operations. 

Responsible for directing staff engaged in the Build, Implementation, Release and Deployment process for all applications installations, upgrades, patching, and changes including regulatory and legislative requirements to ensure the maintenance of a technically current applications portfolio. 

For applications delivered ‘As a Service’ direct the work of Service Providers to ensure such applications maintain security and currency and that configuration is maintained to meet Business requirement. 

Maintain and communicate up-to-date business knowledge, specialist technical skills and market intelligence relating to the relevant applications. 

Responsible for agreeing and working to achieve a personal development plan with the line manager and for demonstrating a continuous approach to personal professional development. 

The post holder should be prepared to work outside of normal hours, including attending evening meetings, and occasional weekend working. 

To work flexibly in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job and participate as required in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross- organisational groups and task teams. 

To take responsibility, relevant to the post, for ensuring that Council statutes and government legislation is upheld. This includes, amongst others, Management Compliance Charter, Environmental Policy, Data Protection Act, Race Equality Action Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Health & Safety, Sustainable Construction and Recycling. 

To take responsibility, appropriate to the post for tackling racism and promoting good race, ethnic and community relations. 

To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence: 

An experienced Senior Applications Support Analyst who has operated for the technology function in a technical analysis role for large complex organisation. 

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to assist in influencing, persuading, and negotiating with stakeholders.  

Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills. 

Good interpersonal skills and customer service skills. 

Able to demonstrate good experience in a Senior Applications role preferably working within a large Local Authority or with a Service Provider providing applications build and support services to the public sector. 

A track record of working within effective teams delivering high quality services that have been proved successful in meeting complex business requirements and in enabling standardization, simplification, sharing and re-use. 

Able to demonstrate a clear understanding and capability to work within relevant IT related standards. 

Educated to A level or equivalent Hold Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) or equivalent Qualification or high level of demonstrable capability with Relevant vendor business applications ITIL V4 Foundation
