The Role
The Maritime Service Coordinator is an exciting and varied role that is key to the business. You will be the focal point for coordination, contact and support for both our fleet and head office team.
You will monitor and then manage situations utilising the wider shore side team providing overall management and support of any emergencies and ad hoc operational issues that might occur. Working as a team to come together to work through and resolve issues impacting the business. No two days will be the same as you can never guarantee what will happen!
Duties include:
- Monitor daily fleet operations, compiling and presenting complicated situations to the wider business in a clear and consistent way which are compelling and unambiguous.
- Lead daily operational scrums ensuring that key impacts are raised in a timely manner.
- Lead the relevant operational teams.
- Key operational contact for incidents and deviations, ensuring clear communication and ensuring effective information flows.
- Lead on operational deviations, such as itinerary changes and impact of technical issues, coordinating ship and shore side operational teams to develop balanced solutions to complex problems.
- Close liaison with the on-call crisis teams, in particular the Incident Commander to ensure all incidents are escalated to L3/4 with a clear brief to the Incident Commander.
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK09 and is offered on a full time 12 months Fixed-term contract basis, with hybrid working of at least 3 days in our Southampton office. The team also works a rotated schedule, meaning that some weekends will be required, as well as some travel due to business needs.
About You
Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need:
- Qualified deck or technical ships officer / or equivalent in another transportation industry
- A-levels or equivalent
- Working within a fast-paced operational environment
- Experience of managing and leading groups of stakeholders
- Creation and delivery of operational/crisis contingency plans
