Job Descrption

We recognise the value in having people with a variety of backgrounds, experience and skills in our business. That means the role requirements here should be seen as a guide, not a checklist. If you have more, less or different experiences, but really relevant skills, we’d love to hear from you.

We work flexibly and will help you to find a healthy balance of remote working and time in our fantastic Southampton office, collaborating, taking part in events and getting to know people that makes working with us so rewarding. We welcome the opportunity to discuss reduced hours and job share arrangements.

The Role

The Commerical Analyst will support the day-to-day management of refit expenses, engaging with Project Managers and external contractors to ensure accurate representation of project costs, as well as supporting the successful delivery of the Refit Lifecyle management governance and framework.

Working collaboratively across all departments in Carnival UK, this key role will work to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Refit Lifecycle Management Team.

Accountabilities include:

  • Creation of Master cost control spreadsheets for each individual refit.
  • Maintenance of budgets and allocation between budget codes at an individual ship level.  Working closely with procurement for budget and scope queries.

  • Support the Commercial Manager with the collation of the senior quarterly and monthly reports that get shared with the senior leaders of CUK, the wider leaders of the corporation.
  • Tactical planning focus up to 12 months ahead – communicating upcoming milestones and key activities.  Responsible for managing Refit Lifecycle activity plan and delivering planning support within the management team as required.
  • Support process review and process mapping work across Refit Lifecycle Management and workstreams.   Working with the Refit Lifecycle team to ensure all risks and issues are identified, appropriately scored and allocated owners for resolution.
  • Point of contact for various Finance team requests (including CIP aging, Attestation, Project updates and budget closures, recoding of incorrectly raised costs and 3 way reconciliations. Closure of all Capital Projects & OpEx budget codes).

Some periodic travel will also be required to dry docks as well as vessel visits to support the planning and preparation of the docking scope - providing summary level updates for the senior teams (SMT) of the spend to provide context to the investment being made.

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK10 and is offered on a full time permanent basis with hybrid working in our Southampton office (a minimum of 3 days per week office based).
