The Service & Team:
The Cornwall Pension Fund is administered within Cornwall Council. We are a team of 30+ people based in Pydar House, Truro who support members and employers in the Local Government Pension Scheme within Cornwall.
The Role:
To assist the Employer Liaison Officer to ensure that scheme employers e.g. Cornwall Council, Academies, Town/Parish Councils, private companies, are fully supported and provided with all necessary information and guidance as Scheme employers of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
This role assists in the provision of support to new and existing Scheme Employers in relation to their responsibilities as set out in the LGPS Regulations and to ensure compliance in order to support the efficient management of the Cornwall Pension Fund.
To assist the Employer Liaison Officer in the TUPE process and supporting employers gaining admitted body status will be a key element of the role; This includes advising employers, collating membership and contract data, liaising with Legal Services in the construction of Admission documents, calculating employer contribution rates and liaising with our Investment Team and actuarial colleagues on regular basis. Alongside this, monitoring ongoing Admission Agreements, bonds, indemnities and employer cessations to ensure the Fund is continually protected and adhering to our regulatory responsibilities and fund policies.
Support the Employer Training and Communications Officer, under the guidance of the Employer Liaison Officer, in the development, review and appropriate distribution of scheme communication material and training. This could include email communications, presentations, training, guidance documents, website content and Teams/In person meetings on occasion. There will also be occasions when the role will support in communication to our scheme members.
Please note this is a hybrid role which requires 2 days a week minimum working from Pydar House in Truro.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
