The role holder will work closely with the Syndicate Active Underwriter in leading the annual Syndicate Business Forecast (SBF) process in line with the Syndicate’s strategic plans.
Throughout the year, this role will be a key point of contact in maintaining a positive and high-quality relationship with Lloyd’s, acting as the liaison between the Lloyd’s Syndicate Performance Manager and the SCOR Syndicate team.
A key aspect of the role is to support the syndicate leadership and underwriting teams, by providing them with high quality business insights and analytics.
The role will work collaboratively as part of the SCOR Specialty Insurance Analytics & Business Insights team to ensure that the SCOR Syndicate is appropriately included within the Specialty Insurance planning and performance oversight process.
The role holder is expected to assist in critically reviewing the business plan and performance and will therefore require analytical capabilities, experience, and the confidence to engage and challenge senior stakeholders.
In close coordination with the underwriting teams, be responsible for coordinating the Syndicate Business Forecast submission process, reporting (quarterly reports, regular and ad hoc reports) and supporting performance monitoring processes (periodical reviews with the underwriters) for the SCOR Syndicate. These processes are key for the steering of the SCOR Syndicate, and they involve frequent interactions with the Syndicate and SCOR Specialty Insurance Management Team members.
Manage the Specialty Insurance planning process as it relates to the SCOR Syndicate.
Act as liaison between Lloyd’s and the SCOR Syndicate including monthly meetings with the Lloyd’s Syndicate Performance Manager, coordinate the submission of new initiatives, quarterly returns and responses to Lloyd’s communications.
Assist the underwriting leadership with portfolio management and performance review including the coordination of the annual class of business reviews.
Carry out bespoke business analyses and facilitate informed decision-making by providing insights to the underwriting teams. Act as a source of knowledge and support for the UW teams, management, Strategy team.
Support of Syndicate strategic initiatives.
Quarterly reporting to the SCOR Syndicate board of directors.
Periodic regulatory reporting requirements.
Liaise with Pricing and Reserving teams in order to feed and inform the business performance analysis
Support the continued convergence between the SCOR Syndicate and the Company processes for business planning and performance monitoring. This includes bringing the SCOR Syndicate planning and performance monitoring processes into the wider Specialty Insurance domain and, conversely, pursue the enhancement of the planning and performance monitoring process on the Company side.
Required experience & competencies
Knowledge of the planning and performance monitoring processes at Lloyd’s
Familiarity with Specialty Insurance products
Awareness and understanding of insurance accounting
Strong technical and analytical skills
Proven stakeholder management skills
Good team player, ability to develop network, internally and externally
Ability to manage short and long-term objectives and projects
Experienced in establishing and managing processes
Required Education
Educated to A Level with a higher education diploma preferable.
