Job Title: ART STUDIO & Gallery RECEPTIONIST
Department: Art Studio & Gallery
Reports To: Art Studio Supervisor and General Store Manager
Rate of Pay: $15.00/Hour + Commission
Shift: Part-Time, Year Round
Weekends, holidays, and special events required.
Some evenings may be required.
SUMMARY
Welcome guests to the Sundance Art Studio & Gallery and skillfully guide them through their experience, whether they're exploring the gallery, shopping for art, or attending a class. Ensure each guest feels engaged and informed, providing assistance, and answering questions as needed. Your warm and knowledgeable approach will enhance their visit and contribute to a memorable experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Warmly greet each guest.
Represent the Art Studio with an engaging and professional presence.
Facilitate scheduling of classes and communicate with artists.
Possess a well-rounded view of how the Art Studio operates.
Answer telephone in a professional manner, following Sundance protocol.
Enter purchases in point-of-sale system, secure accurate payment with appropriate signatures and package guest purchases.
Run and close register.
Exhibit computer proficiency and accuracy by entering correct and appropriate information.
Wrap, package and ship various artwork (glass and pottery) as needed.
Keep shipping records. Reduce packaging and use recycled packing materials when practical.
Tell Sundance's story of land preservation (Sundance Preserve) and environmental commitment to guests when the opportunity arises.
Maintain a neat and organized gallery and studio.
Assist in monthly inventory.
Exhibit knowledge of Art Studio services and products.
Communicate with guests and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess a working knowledge of timekeeping systems, word processing, spreadsheets, internet navigation, electronic mail and micros.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
