Search Developer Platform’s mission is to enable efficient development of compelling Search experiences at scale with quality and velocity. Working collaboratively across Search+, we aim to achieve this mission through cohesive end-to-end developer journeys (spanning user understanding, resolution, whole page layout/composition, fulfillment, and rendering), scaling our feature partner engagements, unlocking new user value via cutting-edge AI, and modernizing the Search platform at scale. As the Principal Engineer for the Search Developer Platform, you will be working with Googlers, team leads, engineers, PM, UX, and more across Search and beyond, to both accelerate immediate product improvements on the tech stack and (re)invent the future architecture and developer abstraction layer. Success is a cohesive developer journey with end-to-end neuralization to empower Search vertical developers across first-party and third-party, at scale, with quality and velocity. You'll be expected to modernize Search feature development, making it significantly faster and easier, with reduced overall cost of ownership and improved product coherence. Specifically, this includes delivering consistent user experiences across client platforms and vertical features without excessive migration or maintenance overhead, and encompassing projects such as SDS, UIRs, Discover-SRP stack convergence, LLM powered composition, etc.
In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.
