Job Description:
Job Posting Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Building Material Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to involve in monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, documentation of all material of the project to ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Review the Contractor's material submittals and obtain the required approvals according to the applicable standards and project specifications.
• Serves as the focal point for the scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site.
• Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
• Coordinates work of subconsultants for material testing.
• Maintains office files related to the project, material inspections and writes daily diaries.
• Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract.
• Verifies that only approved... materials are incorporated in the work.
• Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems on construction materials, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution.
• Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.
• May provide technical guidance to lower-level staff.
• Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports.
• Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures.
• Capability to perform math calculations in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs, and charts.
• Observe, check and record work execution is in accordance with approved methods.
• Check that material delivered is as approved and properly stored.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in civil/architectural engineering, or equivalent construction-related work experience.
• At least 10 years of overall experience in quality assurance/quality control in building/Villas works.
• Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs.
