Description

Purple Carrot is on a mission to cultivate the plant based revolution, one meal at a time. We are looking for a passionate full time Food Stylist to join our team. Your job will be to work closely with the other members of our Creative and Culinary teams to bring the Purple Carrot vision to life in all of our imagery and video, from e-commerce, lifestyle, paid media, and social content.

This role is a unique opportunity to straddle the line between creative and culinary, balancing an innovative creative mindset with culinary know-how. 

Location: 

• Purple Carrot HQ is in Needham, MA and prefers local candidates to work onsite in our office/test kitchen 4-5 days a week

On the Plate:

• Cook and style all recipes for lifestyle, e-commerce, and social shoots across our entire PC brand 
• Mise/Prep food in advance for all content shoots.
• Source ingredients and propping
• Share responsibility for care, upkeep, and maintenance of kitchen/studio space
• Maintain, update, and organize in-house props
• Participate in social video filming for recipes
• Work with Visuals Manager to anticipate and plan for styling direction for all meals
• Work within our software for project management to ensure all projects run smoothly and deadlines are met
• Join team preproduction calls to review concepts and deliverables.
• Research best styling practices to continue to innovate and participate in trends

Main Ingredients for the role:

• 1-3 years experience working as a food, props or set stylist.
• Advanced knowledge of cooking, food and food styling
• Knowledge of prop styling
• A strong sense of composition 
• Proven experience managing multiple priorities independently and delivering on deadlines
• Work in a process driven environment including working within systems such as Asana, GSuite and Excel
• Stamina and enthusiasm for aggressive 8-hour shoot days
• Able to work full time on-site in our Needham, MA office/ test kitchen, 4-5 days a week

Extra Special Sauce:

• Experience with working on production sets
• Experience with organizational management systems
