Summary of position
Criticaleye is currently seeking a junior/graduate Accounts Assistant (Full Time Role) to join our growing Accounts team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to kick-start their career with a diverse portfolio of responsibilities.
Based in our London office, the new Accounts Assistant will support the Accounts team in overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial process of the company and its subsidiaries.
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s finances are properly administered and monitored. The Account Assistant will be responsible for responding to all day-to-day accounting queries from... customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and enthusiastic team player with excellent attention to detail.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
General duties include:
• Process all sales and purchase invoices and ensure they are properly completed on Xero
• Process employee and board mentor expenses
• Process weekly supplier payments of all authorised purchase invoices by BACS
• Process and resolve all supplier & creditor enquiries
• Reconcile debtors and creditors balance on weekly basis
• Process bank reconciliation and reconciliation of other control accounts
• Ensure payments are received on time and chase up where necessary for credit control process
• Undertake account reconciliations as required
• Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
• Support preparation of weekly turnover and cashflow report
• Support preparation of payroll and pension administration process
General support:
• Ability to establish effective working relationships and to work in a proactive and collaborative manner across the company.
• Provide general administrative support to Accounts Team.
• Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
• Work on ad-hoc projects as needed to meet the changing business environment
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor degree in Accountancy or Finance (UK based universities)
• An accountancy qualification or equivalent experience (ACCA & CIMA Part Qualified will be a plus)
• Sound understanding of financial operations and accounting controls
• Strong bookkeeping skills
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines
• Has an awareness of the importance of confidentiality, information security and data protection
• Strong MS Office Skills (Outlook, Excel and Word), preference intermediate level for Excel skills
• A minimum of 1 year work experience in accounting or finance field.
• Knowledge of Xero, Sage or other accounting software would be highly desirable
