Job Descrption
Criterion Capital/Hospitality is a leading operator in the real estate and hospitality sectors, managing a portfolio of exciting projects across London and beyond. We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant/Coordinator to oversee the financial management of our construction and development projects. This role is critical in ensuring the financial success of our projects, working closely with the commercial team to maintain accurate financial oversight from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain detailed project financial records: Ensure all project costs, income, and financial data are accurately recorded and organised.
• Review and approve supplier invoices: Collaborate with the Commercial Director to verify that all invoices align with contract terms and project budgets.
• Financial reporting and analysis: Provide regular and thorough reports on the financial performance of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor project... budgets and financial performance: Ensure alignment between actual expenditure and the project plan, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
• Investigate project variances: Identify and explain any differences between budgeted and actual costs and recommend actions to improve financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations and effective communication.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including CIS: Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring full compliance with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and other relevant regulations.
• Support decision-making processes: Provide financial insights and respond to project-related queries to support senior management in decision-making.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong construction accounting experience, including extensive knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
• Proven experience in project accounting or financial management within the construction or hospitality sectors.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in financial software, budgeting, and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
