About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our EMEA Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment for an Assistant Management Accountant. Working in a small team, this role supports one of the largest segments within FTI and is ideally suited to someone who is part qualified, who possesses excellent communication, organisational and time management skills. The role is based in our London office.
FTI operates a matrix structure with central corporate departments (Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing, Real Estate) supporting client facing business segments. This role will report to the segment Finance Manager for FLC EMEA and the individual will collaborate and partner with the corporate accounting team, FLC's US accounting team and the FLC business to assist in delivering timely and accurate financial information centered on revenue, WIP, accounts receivable, management of subcontractors and P&L reviews.
Experience of a large / public company with a strong internal control environment... is preferred, with professional services experience an advantage but not essential. FTI is keen to invest in this role by offering study support and attractive benefits.
What You'll Do
• Participation in month end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries
• Assist with account reconciliations, including subledger revenue accounts
• Managing the external, subcontractor process to ensure a timely matching of expense (invoice) and revenue on client billable engagements
• Linking with Executive Assistants, Segment and P&L leaders to ensure a timely purchase to pay (AP) process, relating to the external subcontractor invoices
• Accurate coding of subcontractor invoices by P&L
• Diligent and timely follow up with Segment and P&L leaders on aging WIP and AR balances to ensure a timely conversion from WIP to AR to Cash
• Close coordination with the EMEA Billing team to ensure efficient client invoicing process incl reconciliation of subcontractor costs being invoiced to clients on a timely basis
• Credit collection of AR as required across the business, typically via email interaction with clients and finance departments rather than a heavy phone-based approach
• Direct liaison with external auditors when necessary
• Other ad hoc support to the department and segment as required
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
• Familiar with a financial month-end close process
• Experience of working to tight month end deadlines
• Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work in a team and also independently
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and analysis formulas
• Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed
• Self-starter and highly professional approach to their work

• Experience of working in a matrix organisation and dealing with European subsidiaries and international business units
