The role:
We... are looking for a passionate individual who lives and breathes fashion, keeps up with the latest trends, and is immersed in celebrity culture. You should have a deep understanding of our target market and a clear vision of who the "Oh Polly Customer" is, with the ability to communicate effectively to our audience.
As a Designer, you will collaborate closely with our design team, working on styles from initial concept through to production. You will play a key role in developing innovative styles by analysing our creative concepts and colour palettes. Primarily working with on our jersey collections you will stay ahead of the competition by researching and identifying opportunities in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research, develop, and design across multiple product categories, identifying key shapes for the season and creating concept proposals.
• React to sales data and collaborate with merchandising to update and evolve our core products.
• A strong focus on stretch fabric, while also having experience with woven materials.
• Manage and mentor Assistant Designers.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum 5-6 years’ experience in womenswear design for multi-product lines at a similar brand.
• Expertise in garment construction and cutting, with a focus on innovative jersey design.
• Strong commercial design sensibility and understanding of our brand and customer.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator).
• Skilled in creating detailed and comprehensive tech packs.
• Willingness to travel internationally for sourcing and product development.
• Expertise in designing for stretch fabrics.
• Organized, proactive, and confident in pushing the brand into new directions.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well under pressure.
