Consultant Medical Oncologist – Prostate and Testicular Cancers
We are seeking to appoint a substantive Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our existing site-specialist multidisciplinary teams in the field of Genitourinary Cancers based at St Bartholomew's Hospital in the Barts Cancer Centre.
The successful candidate will join a well-established medical oncology team and play a key role in developing cancer services across the Trust.
This post is advertised as a part-time 7 PA position; You require full registration with the General Medical Council with the licence to practice.

To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and high-quality evidence-based Medical Oncology service, with continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
Leadership, development, and organisation of the services in... his/her charge in line with Trust / Divisional business plans. Liaison and communication with the Clinical Academic Group Director and General Manager and with the Deputy Director of Operations of BCC.
To lead outpatient clinics as specified in the job plan. The typical clinic template for a three hour clinic would be 1-2 new patients and 8 follow up patients.
To lead medical oncology ward rounds for urology inpatients. To develop his/her own interests and specialities within oncology, including active participation in research programmes.

The post holder will work with Dr Jonathan Shamash, Dr Kenrick Ng and Dr Karen Tipples to help provide the urological cancer service for patients in North East London.
The service also covers East London with referrals from Whipps Cross, Homerton and Newham Hospitals with non-surgical care of patients shared with medical oncology colleagues.
To provide, with colleagues, clinical care and supervision of patients attending the Paget Oncology Chemotherapy Day Unit.
To advise and treat patients with oncological emergencies from Barts Health NHS Trust and also Homerton NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will contribute to the training and education of oncology trainees and also undergraduates and non-medical personnel.
MRCP(UK) , CCST in Medical Oncology (or within 6 months of date of interview)
Broad based knowledge of and understanding of Medical
Oncology including systemic therapy and the principles of Palliative care.
Training expected
Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology.
Experience in teaching / training undergraduates and postgraduates
Formal management training
Academic Achievements Research Publications
PhD/ MD Thesis
Ability to motivate and develop medical trainees
