This job description describes the key aspects of a IT Technician I role within the practice. An ideal candidate will already have 1-2 years+ experience working within a similar scale organisation and must be confident in providing one-to-one advice, have an ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams, and be able to take initiative when it comes to managing varied tasks.
As an IT Technician I, you will be working closely with the IT Services Manager in providing all IT support and IT technical guidance necessary for our company to continue to deliver skilled architectural services globally.
This is a full-time, in-office position working out of our studio in London. Expected start date is the beginning of November 2024, with first round interviews due to be held in mid-October 2024. While experience working as an IT Technician within the UK Architectural industry itself is not a requirement, it would be highly advantageous.
As part of your daily tasks, you will:
•... Resolving helpdesk issues and provide IT maintenance/support for the studio.
• Maintain a close relationship with studio Operations Director and Managing Directors group.
• Shows initiative and ability to work well independently and with others.
• Exhibits strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Able to pivot and have a “hands-on” working style.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot assistance to clients via phone, email, chat or in person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Receive, prioritize, and manage service requests from internal clients.
• Communicate with clients in a professional and friendly manner, actively listening to their concerns and providing clear and concise instructions and guidance.
• Escalate complex or critical incidents to appropriate technical teams and follow up to ensure prompt resolution has been met. Communicate incident updates to clients and provide status reports as needed.
• Contribute to the knowledge base and share best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
• Assist in managing IT assets including hardware and software inventory, license tracking, and equipment deployment. Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely replacements and repairs.
• Conduct training sessions and provide orientation as needed.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.
• Reports to the IT Services Manager and/or Director of IT Services.
To succeed in this role, you:
• will bring relevant experience of working with IT support (ideally a minimum of 1-2 years of experience)
• Highly recommended proficiencies – excellent customer service skills, analytical skills, excellent verbal and non-verbal skills, communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in using and administering – Windows Desktop OS, Mac OS systems, iOS / Android devices, Microsoft Teams, PC and laptop hardware, ticketing systems, Audio Visual systems.
• a strong communicator and exhibit attention to detail
• lead the incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and effective problem-solving.
• continuously identify opportunities to enhance IT services and improve the user experience.
Licensure/Certifications/Education:
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in computer technology or related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
