As the Digital Assets Compliance Officer based in the UK [or the Netherlands], you’ll assist in the oversight of DRW’s global digital assets compliance program - including identifying and ensuring compliance with global digital asset requirements, developing and enforcing compliance policy and procedures, providing compliance education and advice to internal trading businesses, and conducting surveillance and monitoring.
What you will do in this role:
Lead the planning, development and implementation of firm’s compliance program specific to the needs of the firm’s digital asset trading.
Assist with the development and execution of compliance projects related to the firm’s strategic initiatives in the digital asset space.
Address day-to-day compliance-related questions regarding digital asset trades and trading strategies.
Track the evolving regulatory landscape within the digital assets industry; review and analyze global regulatory requirements and potential impact to the business in relevant jurisdictions.
Assist with licensing applications as required under new or existing legislation.
Identify surveillance and reporting requirements across global jurisdictions and oversee the development and execution of related projects as needed.
Liaise with regulators and serve as regulatory point person for inquiries, examinations and audits.
Collaborate with legal and AML teams to detect, manage and mitigate compliance risks.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of policies and procedures of department; recommend and implement enhancements and changes as needed.
What is needed for this role:
10+ years of regulatory compliance experience required
Must have strong knowledge of U.S. regulatory regimes relevant to digital assets
Must have a good understanding of existing and upcoming digital asset legislation in the UK and EU, including MiCAR. Awareness of regimes in other jurisdictions such as Switzerland and Singapore an advantage.
Must possess a strong knowledge of financial markets and digital assets
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization
Proven experience leading the implementation of key compliance initiatives
Must have strong organizational and presentation skills and a professional demeanor
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree required
