Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Hardware Engineer to join one of our highly specialized, trading team-aligned engineering teams.
This team works closely with one of Tower’s major global trading teams to devise and support ultra-low latency market access solutions. With access to a wide and continually growing range of global financial markets and cutting edge tools, the team implements new technical capabilities, ensuring optimal performance, and providing expert market intelligence.
Responsibilities
Designing, developing, testing and deploying some of the fastest, most sophisticated trading systems in the world
Developing software that can drive the hardware design to its peak performance
Improving the efficiency of the hardware development workflow
Integrating hardware designs into a larger software stack
Performance measurement and optimization throughout the system, from the SERDES all the way to the Linux kernel and user space applications
Qualifications
An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
2-3 years of practical, hands-on industry experience
A background in both RTL design and software engineering
Experience with FPGA vendor tools such as Vivado / Quartus
Software development experience with a language such as C++ or Java
A strong understanding of the Linux operating system
Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP and Ethernet
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
A keen interest in using software engineering methodologies to improve the efficiency of the hardware development workflow
