What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our Cardiology Institute.

This is a full-time role with the following shift pattern options: 5 x 8-hour shifts or 4 x 10-hour shifts per week between Monday – Friday, service hours of 08:00-20:00, including potential on-call commitment.

Currently, Cleveland Clinic London has three locations in London: outpatient diagnostic centres in Portland Place, Marylebone and Moorgate, City of London. A 184-bed state of the art hospital in Belgravia, Victoria, with seven operating theatre and 3 catheter labs including a hybrid lab. At all locations there are opportunities to work alongside world renowned cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons with specialisations in valve disease, heart failure, sports cardiology, inherited cardiac diseases, electrophysiology and coronary artery disease.

We are seeking a Senior Cardiac Physiologist (equivalent to NHS AFc Band 7). Working at Cleveland Clinic London, you will work autonomously within all areas of Non-Invasive and Invasive cardiology with a specialist interest/working towards independence in Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM).

We have a strong commitment to continued professional development. Training and education will be embedded into the department infrastructure. Flexible working can be offered (4-day working week) with potential on-call commitment paid at competitive rates. Additionally, there are opportunities to be involved in research and development. AHCS/RCCP clinical physiologist registration is encouraged and supported. We also provide leadership and professional growth through contributions to projects including service improvement and quality assurance

What will your duties include?
• Non-Invasive diagnostics will include ECG holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and exercise tolerance testing along with stress echo support.
• Invasive Cardiology will include angiograms, right heart catheters, coronary intervention and structural (ASD, PFO)/valvular intervention.
• CRM will include implantation and follow-up of brady, tachy and CRT devices, any complexity including all manufacturers and remote monitoring.
• Education/training and report sign off/supervision of cardiac physiologists.
• Research, service development, innovation and new technology exposure.
• Dedicated CPD.
• Other duties assigned.

What we need from you?
• BSc (Hons) Cardiac Physiology (or equivalent science-based degree with relevant experience in a cardiac physiology department).
• Demonstrates a broad knowledge of Non-Invasive and Invasive cardiology procedures including CRM.
• Minimum adult Intermediate life support (ILS).
• Owns postgraduate accreditation in CRM e.g. BHRS / IBHRE (or closely working towards).
• Cardiac Physiologist registration with AHCS/RCCP or HCPC (desirable).
• Track record of achievement of objectives in present and past jobs in the clinical field.
• Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously with flexibility.
• Effective and adaptable communication using a variety of verbal and written techniques to the needs of the patient, family, colleagues and the wider MDT.
