Director, Mine Logistic and Infrastructure

Purpose:
To improve the railway and port operations by assisting and guiding local management. Providing all needed information to support the productivity and efficiency programs within the logistics areas. Such activities include assessment of the operational practices and definition of best practices which are the most appropriate for each site according to best standards currently used in the mining industry.
Main Accountabilities:
• Ensure Safety, Health and Environmental standards at each operation are up to the standard expected from a world-class mining operation.
• Assist and guide local operations in improving the railway and port operations, both from a productivity and a cost point of view, compared to the mining operations.
• Assist in the efficiency improvements.
• Assist in the selection and hiring of key... personnel for all operations.
• Provide guidance and coaching for senior managers at the sites.
• Assist and advise on local railway and port budgets; accompany capital operating cost expenditure and provide technical approval for capital cost expenditure projects.

Education and Experience:
- University degree or equivalent.
- At least 20 years proven experience in Logistics including experience in iron ore operations.
- Experience in Africa.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
- If possible, member of a recognized professional engineers’ organization.
- Essential to have international experience and ability to influence and work across various cultures.
- Ideally speaks various languages
