Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in the Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. This position will start as an assignment in Mumbai , India (office) prior to the receipt of the full notice to proceed from the Owner and will eventually transition to the job site for the EPC execution of the project.
Project Location: In this role, you will support contractor’s superintendents and/or craft professionals in the assigned area of the project. Your... oversight will ensure contractor’s craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules, and budgets. Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
A recognized degree in Mechanical engineering or scientific discipline. Actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above. Technical knowledge of all phases of Piping construction activities relating to a single or multiple area including pressure testing methods.
Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
Knowledge of Indian standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction activities.
Familiar with Bechtel's Business Ethics handbook and policies.
Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H).
Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors/craft professionals.
