Person specification

Education & professiona l Qualificatio ns

Essential criteria
• Degree in a scientific/healthcare related discipline or equivalent experience
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Experience

Essential criteria
• Experience of processing biological samples such as Blood, Saliva, Stool in clinical trials laboratory
• Experience of performing a range of blood processing techniques to generate PBMCs, plasma, or serum within a clinical laboratory setting.
• Experience of working in Microbiological Safety Cabinet. BSL Class II
• Experience of working with patient data
• Understanding of Health & Safety
• Demonstration of accurate pipetting skills, centrifugation skills, Aliquoting skills
• Experience of using Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Ability to work within a team, but also on own with minimum supervision.
• Excellent laboratory technical skills

Desirable criteria
• A reasonable amount of experience of working within a clinical laboratory accredited to ISO15189
• Sound knowledge of quality assurance issues
