Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Auxiliary Nurse to join our healthcare team. As an Auxiliary Nurse, you will provide essential support to registered nurses and healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care to patients. Your role will involve assisting with basic nursing tasks, maintaining patient comfort, and ensuring the smooth operation of the ward or healthcare facility. This is an ideal position for individuals passionate about patient care and looking to develop their skills in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist nurses and healthcare professionals with daily patient care tasks.
Help patients with personal care, such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
Assist with patient mobility, including helping patients in and out of bed or chairs.
Ensure patients’ comfort by adjusting bedding, tidying areas, and providing meals or refreshments.
Take and record basic observations, including temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and... blood pressure.
Assist with the safe moving and handling of patients, using appropriate equipment where necessary.
Help with feeding patients who need assistance during mealtimes.
Maintain accurate patient records and update nurses or senior staff on patient conditions.
Monitor and report any changes in the patient’s physical or emotional condition.
Support nurses with clinical tasks, such as preparing medical equipment or assisting with minor procedures.
Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in patient areas.
Assist with transporting patients to different departments or appointments.
Requirements:
Compassionate and caring nature, with a strong desire to help others.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and the healthcare team.
Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions from registered nurses and other professionals.
Attention to detail and the ability to observe and report patient conditions accurately.
Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a healthcare setting.
Previous experience in a care or healthcare role is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
A healthcare or nursing-related qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care) is an advantage.
