Job Summary:
A Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. They assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility. The role also involves basic medical tasks and supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist with personal hygiene (bathing, toileting, dressing).
Help patients move around (transferring from bed to chair, repositioning in bed).
Feed patients or help them eat.
Ensure patient comfort by changing bed linens and ensuring a clean environment.
Medical Support:
Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration).
Report any changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff.
Assist with basic procedures (e.g., collecting urine samples).
Prepare rooms for admission and assist in patient discharge.
Communication:
Communicate patient needs to nurses and doctors.

Ensure patient confidentiality and respect for their dignity and rights.
Record Keeping:
Document patient care activities.
Maintain accurate patient records (input/output logs, vital signs charts).
Team Support:
Assist other healthcare professionals as needed.

Qualifications:
Certification: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program and passing the state’s competency exam (CNA license).
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Previous experience in healthcare (not always required but preferred).
Skills:
Compassionate and patient demeanor.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
