Software Test Analyst
Contract: Fixed term contract - 12 months
Salary: Circa £60K (dependent on experience)
Working hours: 35 hours per week is full time. Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns. Please let us know in your application your desired working pattern.
Reporting to: QA test Manager
Location: London docklands. Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.
The Business applications team play an important role developing and supporting our business applications, enabling us to deliver services to customers and colleagues. As a software test analyst, you'll deliver technical testing using both manual and automated techniques on the systems we run, making sure they're developed at a high level of quality, robust and fit for purpose.
You'll... be involved in delivering new features and updates for a range of applications, with accountability for policing the quality of the code that is developed. Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll be responsible for working with colleagues to achieve agreed sprint and release goals, in turn helping us progress along our change roadmaps.
You'll also be working with colleagues to enhance our test automation capability, develop skills and gain understanding of best practices across a variety of technologies.
Key responsibilities
• Hands on testing across a range of applications
• Ensuring you and your wider sprint team delivers quality code
• Protecting production environments from any new issues caused by a release
• Providing technical insight to sprint and release planning, working hand in hand with developers and BAs to ensure robust plans are in place
• Working with software developers on setting up new frameworks and test automation solutions
• Working with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO or VSTS) to manage source code, covering the applications' lifecycle
• Working with the wider IT team to address any daily issues
• Working agreed technical and non-technical processes for delivering changes and fixing issues
To be considered for this role, you'll need to show us that you've got the skills and capabilities. You'll have to meet the following minimum criteria:
Minimum Criteria
• Automation testing knowledge, good experience to create selenium automation framework and maintaining framework with the test harness.
• Having previous experience working as a software test analyst in a fast-paced environment that's based on Agile methodology - ideally testing across a range of technologies
• Extensive testing experience incorporating system, user interface, acceptance and, integration testing
• Significant experience relevant to Agile SDLC methodology
• Testing knowledge of Workday, Billing systems, Dynamics CRM, Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint or similar applications
• Good knowledge of database testing and advanced level understanding to create updates for SQL queries.
• Experience of test management tools (Microsoft VSTS/Azure DevOps preferred)
Desirables
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or the equivalent work experience in a software development, software testing, or technical writer role
• Experience in performance testing with a performance test tool and resolve coding or environmental issues.
