Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Maker to join our team. As a Cabinet Maker, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing cabinets and other wooden furniture. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in carpentry and woodworking.
NOTE- Shop address is approximately 30 minutes from North London
Duties:
- Build and assemble cabinets, shelves, and other wooden furniture according to specifications
- Install cabinets in residential and commercial settings
- Staining and spray finishing
- Ability to interpret drawings and make cut lists
- Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fit
- Use power tools and hand tools to shape, smooth, and finish wood surfaces
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role 3-5 years an asset, or current enrollment in a cabinet maker apprentiship program
- Strong knowledge of cabinet making techniques and woodworking principles
- Ability to work in metric
... Proficient in using power tools and hand tools relevant to the trade
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials when necessary
- Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines
- Reads and interprets work orders to produce customer orders correctly.
- Pulls appropriate lumber species, grade and quantity for the work order.
- Prolonged Standing and lifting of 40lbs.
- Fabricates and builds various products to meet customer expectations / specifications.
- Ensures various woodworking tools are maintained in good working order and reports any items needing repair or replacement to management as soon as possible so they can be addressed.
