Grinder, General Foundry Laborer at Thompson Foundry Ltd.

Job Descrption
Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
• Grinding/cleaning castings (steel, stainless steel & iron)
• Forklift & overhead crane operation (as req’d to assist in daily production)
• Operation/control of foundry equipment – shake out; molding & core machines; hand grinders & stationary abrasive equipment as required
• Helping with pouring of green sand & no bake foundry molds as part of melt-deck team
• Maintaining a safe and organized workspace
• Mold shakeout
• Shotblasting
• Assisting in various foundry departments (molding, melting, pouring, cleaning, shipping) as required by work demand
Please note: this is not a warehouse picker/forklift operator position -hands-on, manual labor is required
You will be learning/performing all aspects of general foundry work – ongoing training provided
