Canalys is looking for an experienced analyst to support our world-renowned research programs, which support leading technology companies in the US and globally.
The analyst will work in an experienced global team looking at the technology market landscape and have a specific focus on the mobility device market. The role requires face-to-face and desk-based research to generate analysis for written reports, presentations, and client inquiries. The analyst will also be required to attend research meetings and conferences across the United States.
The role will be based out of our office in Portland, Oregon (around 60% of the time).
We are looking for a Research Analyst who will be a part of the Global Channels research team in Reading and will be responsible for contributing to Canalys' Channels Analysis and Managed Services Analysis research services. The individual must be data and results-oriented, hungry to drive the innovation within our services, implement ideas, and work with team members to drive commercial success. A particular interest in technology and routes-to-market would be an advantage. The individual will be part of a globally dispersed team, and must be able to manage working with colleagues and senior executives from around the world.
Impact you’ll make
Drive research and provide insights into channels to help vendors and channel partners develop their go-to-market strategies.
Supporting the Canalys channels and managed services research agendas and conducting primary research with vendors and channel partners to acquire market insights to support clients’ decision making.
Creating and delivering research deliverables to clients (including presentations, reports, surveys etc.).
Presenting research insights to senior level decision makers of clients’ regional or HQ teams.
Developing client relationships and broadening research network.
Contributing to global research engagements/projects, which including conducting research interviews.
Supporting business development of projects.
Contribute to global research engagements/projects, which may include conducting research interviews, creating questionnaires, working with digital research tools.
What you’ll bring
Able to develop insights the current and emerging market and technology trends and their impact on clients’ business
Excellent communication skills as the role requires responding to client inquiries, researching channels to market and addressing the press.
Exceptional data analytical skills
Strong analytical skills interested in digital tools and how they support research.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate leadership skills.
Willing to learn and share.
Prior experience in market research is an added bonus.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, are essential.
Strong English language verbal and written skills are essential. Fluency in other European languages would be an advantage (especially Spanish).

There are travel opportunities to Europe, particularly Berlin and travel to London to meet clients.
