Vacancy for Research Scientist/ Senior Scientist I - Translational Medicine
Location: London- White City
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active lab-based scientist to join our expending Translational Medicine team in our state-of-the-art laboratories in West London. Candidates will be self-motivated with experience in cell-based and flow cytometry assay development. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an innovative and creative scientist to contribute to a growing pipeline of assets in a highly dynamic environment focused on developing cutting-edge cellular therapies.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the implementation and development of new assays.
• Run high level cytometry assays routinely.
• Analyse and report data.
• Maintain and QC flow cytometry equipment.
• Assist colleagues with flow cytometry equipment use.
• Inventory management of reagent stocks.
• Prepare precise technical summaries.
• Prepare analytical plans, validation reports... SOPs and other important documents.
• Manage, organise and ensure appropriate storage of key data.
• Present data at departmental meetings.
• Work independently as well as co-operatively as part of a team to drive projects to key milestones.
• The post holder may be asked to take on general laboratory management tasks aligned with their expertise.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
E – Essential P – Preferred
• Experienced in multi-parametric flow cytometry or equivalent technology at least 2 years’ experience (E)
• Experienced in the use of flow cytometry analysis-based platforms (FlowJo, BD Diva, FCS Express) (E)
• Experienced with primary cell culture and cell lines (P)
• Experience working with clinical samples including Whole blood, PBMCs, Drug product and apheresis (P)
• Experience in GcP, GScP (P)
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to present results clearly and logically (E)
• Committed to delivering high quality work within a fast-paced work environment (E)
• Able to contribute to a culture that embraces scientific excellence, integrity and continuous improvement (E)
• Work well with others in a cross-functional capacity with other members of the Translational Medicine team (E)
• Ability to identify and implement solutions (E)
• Expertise in mammalian cell culture (P)
• A good understanding of cell biology and/or immunology (P)
• Experience working in a laboratory in a Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology company (P)
