Job Title: Chief Engineer
Location: Role is 100% site based, at sites within London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and occasionally other UK locations. Each location / site outside London should be visited at least one in 3 month (or as and when required providing there is an emergency to attend).
Full Time: 40 hrs Per Week
Work Pattern: 7.30am -7.30 pm pro rota (Mon- to Fri) Occasional weekends cover may be required
On-call cover may be required.

What You’ll Do
• Carry out skilled general maintenance work at all sites for actions
• Carry out installation works as instructed.
• To be the point of contact for contractors and to supervise and sign off works ordered
• Draft and maintain a comprehensive PPM schedule that covers all aspects of mechanical, electrical and water safety
• Ensure that the PPM illustrates responsibilities, whether internal external contractor and recurrence cycle.
• Regular... checks and assessments of both patient rooms, clinical and public areas, performing jobs as and when they are required.
• Carry out skilled general maintenance work at all sites as part of the schedule
• To document all work accurately
• General DIY and maintenance including electrical, basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting and decorating
• To respond to, and complete incoming works logged on the internal computerised maintenance management system prioritising your workload, responding quickly to emergencies. Assessing jobs and devising a plan of action to complete.
• To provide technical guidance and advice
• To advise on deficiencies and contribute to strategic planning of replacement/repair
• To provide guidance and direction to the direct report colleague, supervising weekly task lists
• Work with the Operations Administrator on review of the Facilities Log and planning actions and 3rd party contractor job assignment
• Support the Facilities Manager on cost control and validation of quotation acceptance.
• Support the opening of new clinics by leading teams with the process of getting a new clinic ready for clinical use.
• To advise management on deficiencies in system and contribute to strategic planning of replacement/repair.
• Support with end of tenancy primary care sites clearance
• Work as a key team member of the overall Ops team division, supporting peers and colleagues
• Take responsibility for personal performance
What You’ll Bring
• NVQ/BTEC 3-4/City & Guilds
• Must be GCSE level or equivalent, with passes in English and Maths.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft office applications with the ability to master all relevant internal systems.
• The role will require use an electronic system for logging/ reporting/ signing –off tasks via tablet
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience - ideally in healthcare environment
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in water safety, electrical and general HS
