Box Up Gyms is seeking a dynamic and experienced Gym Manager to oversee the
day-to-day operations of our fitness facility. The ideal candidate will be passionate about
fitness, have strong leadership skills, and be committed to providing exceptional customer
service to our members. As a Gym Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a
positive and motivating environment, ensuring the gym runs smoothly, and achieving
business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
○ Oversee the daily operations of the gym, including opening and closing
procedures.
○ Ensure the gym is clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
○ Manage inventory of fitness equipment and supplies, coordinating repairs and
replacements as needed.
○ Implement and enforce gym policies and procedures.
2. Team Leadership:
○ Recruit, train, and supervise gym staff, including personal trainers, front desk
staff, and cleaning crew.
○ Schedule staff shifts and ensure... adequate coverage during peak hours.
○ Provide ongoing coaching and development to staff to ensure high levels of
performance and member satisfaction.
○ Lead by example, maintaining a professional and positive attitude at all times.
3. Member Services:
○ Ensure a welcoming environment for all members and guests.
○ Address member inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and
professional manner.
○ Develop and maintain strong relationships with members to encourage
retention and satisfaction.
○ Monitor member feedback and implement changes to improve the overall
gym experience.
4. Sales and Marketing:
○ Develop and execute strategies to attract new members and retain existing
ones.
○ Track membership sales, renewals, and cancellations, and implement
initiatives to achieve membership targets.
○ Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns and
special events.
○ Monitor local competition and market trends to stay competitive.
5. Financial Management:
○ Manage the gym’s budget and ensure all financial goals are met.
○ Monitor and control expenses, including payroll, supplies, and utilities.
○ Prepare and submit regular financial reports to the regional manager or
owner.
○ Identify opportunities to increase revenue through additional services or
programs.
6. Compliance and Safety:
○ Ensure the gym complies with all health and safety regulations.
○ Conduct regular safety inspections and staff training on emergency
procedures.
○ Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and maintenance activities.
○ Implement and enforce COVID-19 protocols as necessary.
Qualifications:
● Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role within the fitness
industry.
● Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Proficient in
Microsoft Office Suite and gym management software.
● Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required. Fitness certification (e.g.,
NASM, ACE) is a plus.
● Personal Attributes: High level of integrity, strong customer service orientation,
passion for fitness and wellness.
