Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and as the RACE Electrical Manufacturing and Quality Systems Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the quality delivery of all electrical manufacturing and installation activities throughout the RACE portfolio. You'll be responsible for creating Quality Management Plans, and ensuring that processes are adhered to throughout the manufacturing and commissioning phases, in order to support Directive compliance. Leadership is required in coordinating the inspection team, and liaising with the design team, to ensure that design specifications and commissioning schedules for control panels and cubicles are fit for purpose. This will include the supervision of the build, modification of equipment for new projects being designed and developed and requires a hands-on approach.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the Electrical Manufacturing Team, advising Electrical Engineers on the manufacturability and maintenance of hardware for equipment used in complex remote handling applications and reviewing the designs prior to build. 
  • Participate in design reviews to influence design decisions.
  • Assist in the construction, testing and commissioning of systems ensuring compliance of systems with both site requirements and legislated safety standards

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive electrical engineering design experience and the ability to assess design work.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles applied to electrical control and distribution systems.
  • Experience of managing quality processes in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. 
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering electrical engineering projects
  • Good understanding of project lifecycles.
