Company Description

The UK Government will be launching UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd. to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy, addressing the climate crisis. This involves setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing the first ever fusion power plant.

Fusion energy, crucial for combating climate change and ensuring energy independence, is expected to be commercially viable by mid-century. The UK will be building STEP, led by the UK Atomic Energy Authority and its subsidiary UK Industrial Fusion Solutions, aiming for a prototype fusion plant by 2040. UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd. will lead delivery, collaborating with industrial partners and building a fusion supply chain with an estimated sector value of £7tn per year. Job Description

The Role

Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy as Head of Programme Integration, Analysis, and Insights in the field of fusion energy. Lead a team to support the Programme Director, CEO, and Board Chair in establishing a major new programme - STEP. This role involves strategic decision-making, high-risk, high-reward program management, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide staff and stakeholders aligned with CEO and Chair's intent.
  • Represent the company to key stakeholders for effective decision-making.
  • Provide strategic advice on program options and communicate delivery performance.
  • Shape program deliverables and strategies based on insights.
  • Contribute to establishing STEP as a major program and provide leadership for consistent strategies.
  • Lead program integration for informed decision-making and utilize data for insights and communication.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate teams and build confidence in stakeholders.
  • Experience in analyzing and assessing program delivery in a complex technical and collaborative setting.
  • Demonstrated qualifications and membership in relevant professional bodies for program management or business analysis.
  • Experience in strategy and risk-led decision-making in government or private sectors.
  • Proficient in interacting with senior staff and stakeholders, quickly understanding their perspectives and adapting communication style accordingly.
