Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a variety of teams in achieving fusion energy.
This apprenticeship covers a variety of skill sets, you will learn all aspects of Performing Engineering Operations in skills such as:
In your first year, you will experience the world class Oxfordshire Advanced Skills Training Facility (OAS). In years 2 and 3, you will experience rotation around UKAEA by working directly with our many experts and be involved in departmental projects. During this time, you will be able to identify your preference of Mechanical or Electrical Bias in the many disciplines that are available.
Part way though year 3 and for year 4, you will be working in your chosen final placement area building relationships with your colleagues and helping our organisation to further its progress towards our goals.
As the above is occurring, you will also be provided with the classroom-based input on day release (at UKAEA) to help you to achieve your academic qualification towards level 3 certification. For those who excel at distinction level, an opportunity can be discussed to then take up HNC at level 4.
